Dr. med. Andreas Leonhard is a highly experienced internist with 30 years of practice in a private internal medicine setting and extensive additional qualifications in sports medicine, naturopathy, nutrition, and weight management. As Medical Director of the German Specialist Centers (Deutsche Facharzt Zentren), he stands for interdisciplinary expertise, responsible leadership, and holistic patient care.

He studied human medicine at the University of Ulm, followed by a practical year at the Bundeswehr Hospital in Ulm. After receiving his medical license and doctorate (Dr. med.), he completed his specialist training in internal medicine at the Memmingen Hospital, a teaching hospital of LMU Munich.

His areas of clinical expertise include cardiology, pulmonology, and the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. He is certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy, X-ray diagnostics, and radiation protection. In addition, he has solid experience in emergency medicine: he served as an active emergency physician for seven years and holds the official title of Chief Emergency Physician of the Free State of Bavaria.

Since joining the German Specialist Centers in 1997, Dr. med. Leonhard has played a key role in shaping their medical vision – always with a strong focus on quality, individualized care, and patient safety.
