- Medical studies at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the University of Zurich, and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) from 1989 to 1995.
- In 2003, he was appointed Senior Consultant at the Department of Urology at LMU Munich.
- In 2007, he became Deputy Director and Head Senior Consultant at the Department of Urology and Polyclinic of LMU Munich.
- In 2010, Prof. Dr. Reich became Head of the Department of Urology at Munich-Harlaching Hospital.
- Since 2022, he has co-directed a urological practice in Unterhaching near Munich and performs surgeries at Isarklinikum Munich.
Research focus and expertise:
Prof. Dr. Reich’s clinical and scientific focus is on prostate diseases, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), oncology, urolithiasis, and andrology.
He is particularly known for his minimally invasive and organ-preserving surgical treatments of diseases of the prostate, bladder, and upper urinary tract.
In 2003, Prof. Dr. Reich pioneered the Greenlight laser therapy for the gentle treatment of BPH in Germany, as well as in Russia and Kazakhstan.
His particular expertise lies in the surgical treatment of prostate diseases, and he played a key role in developing the current guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of benign prostate syndrome (BPS).
