Vaccinations for Adults
Vaccinations for Adults – Because Protection Has No Age Limit.
Did you know?
The STIKO (Standing Committee on Vaccination at the Robert Koch Institute) recommends regular booster shots and additional vaccinations starting at age 60 or for certain risk groups – to keep you reliably protected in everyday life and as you age.
Regular Boosters for All Adults:
- Tetanus & Diphtheria – every 10 years
- Whooping Cough (Pertussis) – once, combined with the next tetanus booster
From Age 60 (Standard Recommendations):
- Influenza (Flu) – annually in the fall
- Pneumococcal Vaccine – one-time vaccination
- Herpes Zoster (Shingles) – two doses, 2–6 months apart
From Age 75 & Risk Groups from Age 60:
- RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) – one-time vaccination in the fall
Specific Vaccinations by Birth Year or Situation:
- Measles (MMR Vaccine) – for everyone 18 and older, born after 1970 with unknown or incomplete vaccination status
- COVID-19 – basic protection with at least three antigen contacts (at least one of which must be a vaccination)
- COVID-19 – yearly booster in the fall for adults aged 60
